In the interest of fair warning/transparency, here is a partial list of reasons why I might be hiding or unfriending people this holiday season: 1. You continually post things like I love Jesus! God lives at my house! We must keep the Christ in Christmas! Dont even think about telling me Happy Holidays! etc. You get the idea. I have Jewish, pagan and atheist friends and guess what I dont think theyre going to hell and I will be wishing them all happy holidays from the bottom of my heart. By the way I love Jesus (and Buddha) and God is most certainly welcome in my house, too. You are welcome to your beliefs, but so is everyone else. I will not engage in guessing games or assumptions about what spiritual belief system, if any, people adhere to and it feels the most respectful to me to say happy holidays. If you are sporting a huge cross or Jesus is the Reason for the Season button, I guess I can feel safe in wishing you a Merry Christmas. Since youll probably be unfriending me after reading this, hey, Merry Christmas. 2. If at any time before 12/20 you post updates about how all your gifts are bought and wrapped, all your homemade family holiday attire is completed and ready to wear, as demonstrated by the attached photos, and all 27 kinds of your holiday cookies/candy are completed, again, see attached photos. Your OCD or Type A personality or whatever makes me nervous. Good for you, but I cant take it. Please understand if I hide you this season. Unlike the peeps above, youre not offending me, youre just provoking my holiday related anxiety. Ill see you again after the first of the year. 3. You post things making fun of Christians and their fantasy God in the sky and how Christmas is all bullshit. Thats just not cool.
