In the last two weeks Ive literally felt my enthusiasm for Ant-Man evaporate. 8 years of anticipation, evaporated. Today, it was announced that Bring It On & Yes Man director Peyton Reed will be taking over directing on Marvels now troubled project, with a script semi-authored by Adam McKay (word is this gesture is meant to appease Paul Rudd, who has been apprehensive about the project since Wrights departure). What troubles me the most though, is the press release that was just released by Marvel announcing this new Director, and I trust Marvel, they have for the most part never really done me or us, the fans, wrong- but to not even give Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish a writers credit, is disturbing. Is 8 years of work really flushed down the drain? The rumors surrounding Marvels rewrite have been very disheartening, even borderline worrying.
