In the latest World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Competitiveness Report for 2013-2014, the Philippines ranks 96th out of 142 countries in perceived quality of Math and Science education. The survey questioned business executives around the world to rate the quality of education, among other things, in their respective countries. It is a considerable improvement from being ranked 115th in the WEF 2011-2012, but still far behind our other Asian counterparts such as Indonesia (35th), Japan (34th), Malaysia (27th), Taiwan (11th), Hong Kong (10th), and Singapore, which continues to be on top of the list.
