In the lead up to February 13: Tibetan Independence Day, Tibetans and supporters take on the #TibetFlagChallenge to celebrate The Tibetan flag as it is one of the most recognizable symbols of Tibet’s independent past and Tibetan national identity. Despite the flag being banned in Tibet under Chinas rule and its possession can lead to arrest, the flag is an enduring symbol of the Tibetan people’s struggle for freedom and independence. This year, SFT will shine a light on the Tibetan flag and the Tibetan people’s struggle for freedom and encourage our members to take part to challenge China’s propaganda about Tibetan history and strengthen the case for Tibet on the global stage.
