In the middle of last night. Ginger girl had eaten and for - TopicsExpress

In the middle of last night. Ginger girl had eaten and for some reason for the first time was smooching and sitting on me and purring (and biting!) then I came inside. A bit later, Grey puss (a tomcat found starving, bald and bleeding at my front fence a year ago) was eating on the front step, when lo and behold up the path comes Ginger girl with (usually too timid to approach but long time semi resident) StripeyTabbyTom directly in tow, and get this, she looks up at me and asks me if he can come for a feed. Well of course! But I note theres a sticky situation brewing here because theres only one way on or off the porch and Grey puss is effectively cornered. So I make a dash for it inside. Fill a plate of whiskas at lightning speed and race outside whoops no cats. Out on the street however, I hear a low Japanese. So I go out there and under a car there is Grey puss saying bit of trouble here StripeyTabbyTom other side under car and Ginger girl at end of car growling at Grey puss. Girl GROWLING!! at Grey puss? She seemed happy enough with him last time they met. I try talking to Grey puss. You dont want to do this. Look your head is all scratched up anyway, youll just get more. Itll hurt. Come on. Come and get some food instead. Nope. Hes not having it. Too much pride at stake here, cant walk away in the midst of a sortie. So I go to other side of car and place my feet firmly on the ground (without aggression mind) and out and off goes StripeyTabbyTom down the road, in a forgot the time got to be off manner. But Ginger girl is still growling! What the? I get a plate of food and stick it pretty much on Grey pusss nose. Finally he comes back up the driveway and starts to finish eating beneath the step. Meanwhile my cats are at the window probably giving absolute hell to the cats below. Ginger girl then peeps round the corner (the cheek of this cat) what about me? Then she gets a mini gander at one medium sized but lean and mean white cloud cat, one teenage cat come fox and a Pygmy devil - all staking out on the windowsill, waiting for a moment to transport through the glass and likely kill any cat eating within five miles. She disappears. Grey puss finishes food and goes, not home to the school where someone dumped him out of a former friendly life, but off down the street in search of not one but two marauding possums who dared to interrupt his dinner first time round. As far as Im concerned, peace reigns. But put two and two together and the street may be expecting kittens soon I fear.
