In the midst of what else is going on in my life a delightful surprise showed up, unexpectedly, seemingly out of nowhere. I posted an ad on WaccoBB, last year sometime, for eldercare jobs. No one ever answered the ad and I even forgot I had posted it. Then out of the blue this delightful elder mans daughter called me and was looking for an addition to her fathers care team. We meet, and walla. I meet with him once before I went away for Thanksgiving and saw him again today and will be with him three other times this month. What makes this such a delight for me, aside from the fact that I do enjoy being with older people, who are dealing with memory issues,etc. Is he reminds me of my late husband, he is about 7 years older than my husband would have been, if he were still alive. He has a similar way of looking over his glasses at you and he has a wonderful sense of humor, has a similar way of walking and standing etc. He loves some of the foods that my husband loved and at this holiday time I am getting to cook, a good old fashioned pot roast, and Tsimmes and Noodle Kugel. I know it may sound crazy to most of you but I miss cooking these things for my late husband and this gives me great pleasure.
