In the numerous field tests at the all Russian research institute of agricultural microbiology (ARRIAM) of st. Petersburg, Russia and at the geographical experimental network, the newly selected bacteria were comprehensively studied for being nontoxic for plants and for their ability to stimulate the growth, fix molecular nitrogen, and suppress phyto-pathogenic microorganisms. The results show that the new selected bacteria are harmless to human beings, animals and nsects nor do they contribute to the environmental pollution. The bacteria selected from natural microbial populations are intended for production of bio-preparations of extrasol series, their total concentration not exceeding 1-2% of the total number of soil and rhizosphere bacteria. Individual stocks or several species (association)of bacteria are used to produce the specifications, depending on the type or variety of the plant. The selection of the optimal variant is done experimentally to suit regional plant varieties. Extrasol leads to significantly (2-6times)decrease plant affection with phytophthrora infestans, spp and fusariumsdani. The effect of extrasol on deseases like common scab and rhizoctoniosis was comparable with the effect of fungicide Arceride.the average data from ten years of field tests in various soil-climate conditions.
