In the old testament, God sides with Israel against the Canaanites in the occupancy of Palestine. On the other hand God sides with the poor within the community of Israel against the rich and other political oppressors. In the new testament, Jesus is for the oppressed, the poor and unwanted of society, and Jesus is against the oppressors. God is in the affairs of man, no doubt about it. God is active in human history, taking sides with the oppressed of the land. Yes Jesus has come that we might have life, and life more abundantly. God cannot be for us and for the oppressors at the same time. But we know that God is work. He tells us in the gospel to go into all nations teaching and baptizing, after we are converted. Knowing this that there are oppressed people in every corner of the world. (Exodus 19:4-5)(St: Luke 4:18-19)(Matthew 10:1-15)
