In the past few weeks a lot of debates have been going around on Facebook about reporting people or pages that have either animal cruelty or dog fighting on them. I have been asked by the Anti-Dog Fighting Campaign To share this message why you should NOT report any of the people or pages to Facebook. The Anti-DogFighting Campaign DOES NOT support closing down pages or removing pictures and videos of dog fighting or animal abuse and this is why.......Removing these pages only hides this from your view...the animals are continuing to suffer and the offenders are continuing to get away with the crimes. Facebook DOES NOT report pages to authorities or animal welfare agencies. Everyone may hate to see the photos....but the animals are the ones who have to feel the pain. These pages are the ONLY link to where these animals are located and the ONLY way to get help to these animals. These pages are evidence to use in courts to make sure that offenders are prosecuted. And removing the pages only makes the jobs of those of us who work hard to get justice for the animals....campaigns, police departments, lawyers, officials,....all of us. These pages should be used for evidence in the courts and these pages should be used to convince our state officials that these crimes are being committed and for the laws to be changed and penalties should be harsher. Why not use the pages to the advantage to save animals and punish offenders rather than hide them just because you cant handle seeing the tortures these animals have to endure. Use these pages to help convince our state and country officials of just how bad this situation is and how we need changes in laws for stronger penalties. When these pages are gone, the only thing accomplished is helping offenders continue the torture, destroying evidence which could have been used as evidence in prosecution of an offender, and helping animals continue to suffer a lonely painful slow death. Can you really say that removing these pages is helping these animals???? TRUE advocates fight hard to SAVE animals, not hide the pages so the pain can continue. TRUE advocates want to see justice for these animals, not hide the pages so that offenders are hidden so they can continue to torture these animals. The Anti-DogFighting Campaign works with authorities worldwide as well as animal welfare agencies/organizations worldwide to stop the torture. Help by being part of the solution to end the torture.
