In the remake of Superman, Jor-el was willing to let his people - TopicsExpress

In the remake of Superman, Jor-el was willing to let his people die because he had warned them not to tap into Kryptons core for energy. General Zod is fighting to save his people and there clearly was both time and the technology to do it since they had colonies in space that were abandoned but still there. Essentially, Jor-El is an extreme leftwinger who thinks his people deserve to die for not listening to his warnings. later in the film, Zod arrives on Earth with a world engine which he decides to use to terraform Earth. This puts him in the position of being an extreme rightwinger. However, if he really cared about his people, he had other worlds he could have terraformed where there would have been no opposition and he could have terraformed Mars. The story created for Superman is about ideals rather than intelligent story telling as a man like Jor-El would not have condemned his world to death or his people if he could have saved any of them. In rewriting the story, Zod and his military goons were written to be the primary antagonists when the original story had them already in the Phantom Zone before these events. The reason Jor-El only saved his son originally was he didnt have time to save anyone else nor the technology. Another weakness in the story is how Jor-El keeps talking about saving Krypton when he clearly has stated it is doomed and the Kryptonians are already dead. So he puts the codex for his entire race in Kal-Els body and blasts him into space? This was his plan for saving Krypton? In the movie, General Zod actually comes off as a sympathetic bad guy and you even find yourself cheering for him at times because, in many ways, hes the hero and he does to the Kryptonian leaders what most of us would do if we had the chance. When Zod is imprisoned, why bother? Krypton was dying and banishment to the Phantom Zone would achieve what as when his time was up, there would be no world to return to. A funny thing I noticed. The cocoons Zod and his cohorts were placed into looked like penises and the portal to the Phantom Zone like a big vagina lol. However, the production of the movie was way beyond spectacular and for me, it was a vast improvement on the original as this is the Superman I always creamed of when I wanted to be a super hero. https://youtube/watch?v=TulBh6klMuU
