In the sixties and seventies, Pulupandan which is situated in the south-west tip of Negros Occidental Province is a very thriving town noted for its abundance of sugar canes, sugar mills, sugar storage with offloading/onloading facilties. It was then the PORT Capital of Negros Occidental where both local and international vessels called-in to load and or unload cargoes of all types. Although just a town, politics was so very important where both parties in the divide have their own differring ways to rule. It was then known as the "little texas" where almost everyone have a gun tucked in their waist....you can just picture it like texas where there a lot of cowboys and the abundance of guns. I am proud to be born and raised in this place. I learned a lot from this town...from business, enterprising, sense of belonging, learned to compare rich from the poor and a developed attitude of "being independent, patience and perseverance." The family completely moved-out from the town in the mid-eighties mainly because of politics and the consideration given to brothers and sisters who are all studying and also working in the metro manila. Pulupandan, at its present state has undergone a lot of changes, from government heads up to the improvement of commerce activities in the town. It has a lot to offer and it needs people of Pulupandan to start opening the "pandora box".
