In the spirit of transparancy, I just want to say that I consider - TopicsExpress

In the spirit of transparancy, I just want to say that I consider my own personal feed as my personal space. Like a living room. I try -- and hope I succeed -- to respect other peoples feeds as their personal space as well. I have many friends with differing political views. I skim those and would never dream of questioning their opinions. Instead, I want to get past them quickly so I can get to the pictures of their dogs and their children, and find out what great recipes theyre using lately. Same with religion. Apparently we need to put dog training methods in the same boat. Im okay with that. This is my personal space and I personally find it rude if someone comes in and tells me they think the couch I just bought or painting on my wall is ugly. Or tells me they *think* blue is not a good color and asks me to prove why it is. Or hang out for way past the point of welcome. I find that socially rude. I think Miss Manners may agree. I keep most of my posts public as a reminder to myself to think before I post. To write in such a way that I dont feel a need to restrict who sees it. I like people who find me and then friend me and now, I have a new person to get to know in a new city. And keeping my posts public make that easier, makes me more accessible. Ive made great friendships that bridged over into real life that started with common interests on the internet. Even before Facebook. I dont want to start pruning down my lists to people I personally trust, or start restricting certain posts for certain people to see. Its easy enough to do. This is my personal space. If I plant roses and you find roses ugly, dont come dig them out and plant your petunias.
