In the wake of this little shaker, we thought wed share a few earthquake safety tips while we have your attention... Do NOT stand in a doorway during an earthquake Instead: DROP, COVER, HOLD ON! After an earthquake: Limit non-essential travel & avoid the temptation to sight-see. Check on vulnerable neighbors who live alone & those w/ special needs. Many (if you have them!) printed phone directories include Survival Guide to help post. If behind the wheel during an earthquake pull to side of road & safely STOP, avoiding bridges, tunnels, power lines & other hazards. When safe drive very slowly and treat all darkened signals as 4-way stop! Following an earthquake: Do NOT use candles for light. Avoid contact w/ liquids or fumes from any spilled household chemicals. Treat ALL downed wires as energized & potentially lethal. Find the nearest fire extinguishers. If you smell gas in a building, open doors/windows as you move everyone outside. Fortunately this was not a large quake and no significant damage was reported. Now you can go back to, Go Kings Go! ^ES
