In this case, a woman who adheres fully or partially to culture - TopicsExpress

In this case, a woman who adheres fully or partially to culture but never fully resided within it, has been misinterpreted in a way not understood by her. I do not understand and it is perhaps frustrating but this has been a predictable result. Is one wrong for looking beyond self? Is one wrong for looking beyond today, beyond tomorrow, beyond ten years and considers (with hope) the next fifty? Perhaps it is a curse that you are who you are naturally because it doesnt fit with the status quo? Perhaps it is bittersweet, that your words were confused for the words of men... albeit you were truly adhering to what is true to you? Is selflessness, looking beyond self, compassion and empathy for others, worthy of vilification? If all of that is tied within an egalitarian culture, isnt it worth praising? Unselfishness, should never be interpreted with surprise, whether it stems from morality, culture or religious beliefs...
