In this interview from the late 90s, just unearthed from our archives, poet Deborah Garrison tells Bill interview that Poetry is about “trying to find a way to understand and describe the world that lifts you a little bit out of it, instead of just being in it and being lost.” She loves writing of marriage: “The way you can live with another person and know them so, so well, and yet, in another way, being different, separate people is infinitely strange.”
