In this week (Wednesday, June 4, 2014) newspaper “The Lake Today” thelaketoday had a wonderful write-up on the event called “Hot Summer Nights – salutes Route 66” once each month in the summer on the Bagnell Dam Strip here at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri is a cruise in for classic motor vehicles, June 13th from 6 – 11 p.m. the Missouri Route 66 Association – the author of “Route 66: The Highway and It’s People, Susan Croce Kelly - representatives and members from the Route 66 Visitor Centers in Conway, Mo. – Kansas Historical Route 66 Association – Oklahoma Route 66 Association - Darrell Pollock, executive director of the Lebanon Chamber of Commerce and the National1965-66 Full Size Chevy Club will be on hand to honor and give out information about Route 66. On Saturday, June 14th a get-together is scheduled for a Road Warrior Lunch to meet and greet new and old friends interested in Route 66. As a shameless promotion, the “Waters Edge Motel” watersedgemotel.net located on the West side of the Lake of the Ozarks has rooms open for this week-end at a special rate for road warriors.
