In times of turmoil, I need to keep my focus on God. I know He’s faithful. I know He will help us through whatever comes next in the journey. I am so grateful for God’s word—His Truth—which grants hope and confidence. I am forever hopefully confident. “For the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared” (Prov. 3:26). “The Fear-of-God builds up confidence, and makes a world safe for your children” (Prov. 14:26 MSG). “The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever” (Isa. 32:17). “Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence” (Jer. 17:7). “And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us” (2 Cor. 1:10). “May God our Father himself and our Master Jesus clear the road to you! And may the Master pour on the love so it fills your lives and splashes over on everyone around you, just as it does from us to you. May you be infused with strength and purity, filled with confidence in the presence of God our Father when our Master Jesus arrives with all his followers” (1 Thess. 3:11). “So, friends, take a firm stand, feet on the ground and head high. Keep a tight grip on what you were taught, whether in personal conversation or by our letter. May Jesus himself and God our Father, who reached out in love and surprised you with gifts of unending help and confidence, put a fresh heart in you, invigorate your work, enliven your speech” (2 Thess. 2:15 MSG). “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (Heb. 4:16). “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see” (Heb. 11:1). “So we can say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?’” (Heb. 13:6).
