In voodoo, theres a scene where you get shot by a hillbilly in a gator house, which symbolizes your death. When you enter my room, (priest house) the priests are performing voodoo rituals that bring your spirit to life, and welcomes you to Papa Legba, (crossroads spirit) who takes you into your afterlife, where you can visually see an excorcism occurring right before your eyes, or a sacrifice of Other victims bodies, including your own. Youre then brought up to enter the ritual woods, where spirits dance, and bring your body back to life by the fireplace. Idk if this story is intentional to the maze or not, but it works great!!!
