In whatever shake up in the security system, President Uhuru - TopicsExpress

In whatever shake up in the security system, President Uhuru should give Kenyans an alternative place that they can report suspected terrorists and drug dealers: not the Kenya Police. The Landlady in Pangani- where the blast took place yesterday, knew that the men in her house were up to no good. But being a Kenyan with some brains in her head- she NEVER reported to the Police. That is the dilemma many Kenyans face. If you report to the Police- you are ten times more likely to be in trouble. The possibility of the terrorists having informers and protectors within the Police force is very high. I personally walked into a Police Station in August 2013, and reported someone that I believed was the co-ordinator of terror recruiting in Nairobis Eastlands. Within one hour- the man gave me a call- having been informed about my reporting. Fact is: Kenyans are 100% willing to help with fighting terror and crime. But nobody in his right mind would trust the Kenya Police- as it is constituted right now- with confidential information.
