In writing this, I wish to raise awarness within both the business and wider community of Busselton and its surrounds, about the continual and increasing accurance of outsoursing of services of events staged here in Busselton & nearby. Within the community we already have services available to meet the needs of many of the aspects of staging major events and yet continually outer town and Interstate companies are employed and engaged to do the work that local businesss have the capacity to carry out. Example: SECURITY at LOCAL EVENTS The recently staged Schoolies Celebrations used a Security Group from SYDNEY where the staff were housed locally in addition to being uneducated with the full task on hand. Also the hiring of equipment for this event was sourced from Companies outside of our local community. We have numerous companies locally that could have serviced this event, thus employing locals to deal with the tasks at hand & using staff more effectively. I say to the ORGANIZERS of these events that are staged here, TO GIVE THE LOCAL COMPANIES to service the needs of the these such events that are staged in our backyards,to re-direct funds back into the community that supports & promoted these events for the benefit of all. Support the locals whom support the Promoters of these events for a better outcome for all.
