In yet another shocking incident a 9-year-old girl was found dead in a mysterious condition last night. The girl has been identified as Longjam Jina daughter of Mangijao of Tharoijam Maning Leikai and she was a student of class 1. Her body was recovered last night around 9 pm in a drain in Awang ingkhol in Tharoijam Maning Leikai under Patsoi Police Station. Jina was last seen at around 3 pm yesterday carrying tea for the labourers working in the paddy field. Thermoflask, steel glasses and blood stained bricks were found at the site where the body was recovered. Forensic Expert inspected the site this morning. Meanwhile, top police officials of Imphal West district have begun their investigations into the case. Meanwhile the local club has started collecting finger prints of male residents from 12 to 50 years in order to identify the accused. The male residents of Tharoijam Maning Lekai, Tharoijam Mayai Lekai and Tharoijam Mamang Leikai were frisked at the Tharoijam Community Hall. The girls body has been sent to RIMS for post-mortem. Meanwhile, an angry mob captured and assaulted a teenage boy suspected to be involved in the death of the girl. The accused has been identified as 19 year old Chingangbam Shyamjai son of late Ingocha of Tharoijam Maning Leikai and was brought to the RIMS hospital in a critical condition.
