In your eyes I unfetter my soul and let myself fall Into the soulful pool of your eyes As our souls merge in the watery deep Of twin souls adrift in the eye of eternity, I am all that I imagine myself to be When I see myself in your mind’s eye Finding a home in the only place that is home To me and that is in the soft gleam of your eyes, Tears glim before they drop to tenderize The hard ground upon which I doth tread With feet bounden to a deep-felt desire To run to you as you run to me in the throes of ecstasy, I belong always to your gentle scrutiny For it sees with a blindness that has faith in me Even when I lack the faith in myself To see myself as dearly as you see me in your eyes.
