The money was received by the corporation for its school grades during the last round of educational rankings. The money is a one-time bonus that will be divided equally among teachers ranked Effective or Highly Effective by the local system and the state. The Vincennes School Board has approved 29 changes to its policies, procedures, and guidelines to keep the local schools operating within changes of state laws and regulations. The Board appointed Yvette Kirchoff to another four year term on the Knox County Library Board and approved a change in insurance carriers. Property and Casualty Insurance and Worker’s Compensation Insurance will now be purchased through an Indiana insurance school trust at a bid savings of nearly $65 thousand dollars. “Es-Creft” will also cover the schools at higher limits with lower deductables and include Flood, Terrorism, and Earthquake coverage.
