Incident: Ryanair B738 at Shannon on Oct 4th 2013, flapless landing By Simon Hradecky, created Friday, Oct 4th 2013 16:42Z, last updated Friday, Oct 4th 2013 16:42Z A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-DWA performing flight FR-1323 from Alicante,SP (Spain) to Shannon (Ireland), was descending towards Shannon when the crew requested to stop the descent at 4000 feet and enter a hold to work the checklists for flaps. ATC cleared the aircraft ot the hold issuing the instruction "hold level 4000 feet" (QNH 1011 hPa). The aircraft entered the hold at 4000 feet (not FL040) for about 20 minutes before announcing they needed to land without flaps but should do okay. The aircraft landed safely on runway 24 at a substantially higher speed than normal, rolled out safely and indicated all operations were normal before proceeding to the apron.
