Incident at the Publix........I needed iceberg lettuce for my sandwiches and salads.....and while there I picked up some caramel sea salt gelato and some kraft macaroni and cheese that you heat up in the microwave.....suddenly I was caught in a tracker beam that was pulling to the seafood counter.....I had fried shrimp for lunch and wanted an encore....the previously frozen shrimp looked suspect and quite possible foreign shrimp...in other words..it was the anti Christ.....the never before frozen shrimp looked local and was the right size so I bought another half pound.......a good thing ...right?...:)..........WRONG!!!!>>:(.....it was a horrible thing to do.....what self respecting southern boy gets his shrimp from a grocery store....I broke my rule and soon I would pay the price or would I?........as I walked out of the Publix....my foot caught the corner of a post and sent me hurling forward......I dropped my bag and my arms were turning like a windmill in an effort to steady myself in an out of control forward free fall..........I almost crashed and burned but managed to regain control and soon I was walking cooly and calmy to pick up my bag and this man walking in said to me...that post will get you every time.......I said...you have to give me credit for that miraculous recovery just now.....he said......yes ...you get points for style and execution.....soon we were talking ......and about three minutes into the conversation we were talking about art...he said he was a collector visiting and will be here for a week...I gave him the address to the studio and told him to stop by........you never know...the last time I stumbled this bad was when I ran into a vending machine making eye contact with my future wife for the first time...we eloped 7 months later.......maybe something good will come out of this....perhaps I have stumbled into a new art patron........no pun intended......ing back in the truck across the long marsh road.....my mind began to race with crazy art energy....my engine is firing on all cylinders now.....Im thinking about my book again and have come up with a title I may go with......The Art of Southern Living on the Coastal Edge Of South Carolina...it will be a coffee table book full of art photos...stories...facts......fiction......hyperbole.....tale tales...fish tales......folklore.....and more........what do you think??????.....the curse of summer is wearing off and I am becoming the creative beast I am.....be on the lookout one day for this book in the stores and come by the studio for the book signing and an exhibition of paintings listed in the book...there will be fun and laughter for all...a full moon......and enough fried shrimp to feed an army........see you then....
