Inciweb: Stuart Creek Fire Is 65 Percent Contained: Community Meeting Tonight (Stuart Creek 2 Wildfire): A strong push with additional crews during the past three days has boosted containment of the Stuart Creek 2 Fire to 65 percent. Meanwhile, the Alaska Interagency Incident Management Team will hold a meeting tonight at 6:30 at the Pleasant Valley Community Center to update residents on the progress of efforts to contain the fire. Team members and agency personnel will also be available to answer questions. The additional containment is on the northeast corner of the fire where most of the residual heat remains. As equipment is hauled out of the southern end of the fire residents in the Grange Hall Road area will continue to see helicopter traffic from a temporary helibase there. There are currently 412 people working on the fire, including 13 crews. The 85,475-acre Stuart Creek 2 Fire began June 19 on a military training range 25 miles east of North Pole.
