Incoming Spoonie taken in Venice. This was a great day for me. A very generous photographer named Robert Blanchard offered to meet Audubon members at Venice Rookery for a ridiculously low donation. It was my first time really trying to shoot birds in flight in manual mode. I tagged along like a puppy with a new best friend. He was shooting and spotting calling out either light or a dark and what direction they were coming in. I got some of my firsts that day. The place was really hoping. Ive never seen that much action there since. Ill never forget it.
