Incredibly sharp cut-off from around 1 inch of snow in Bostons northwestern suburbs to around foot in some of Bostons southern suburbs. In some cases, differences of 6 inches over just a few miles. How do you forecast this stuff??? Fascinating either way. Had to basically chop the numbers way down to the north and west and adjust them for the persistent band from just south of Boston to northern RI. Final batch of snow crosses southeastern MA and Cape Cod this morning before the storm exits (low pressure passes well southeast of Cape Cod today). Next comes a couple very cold but dry days, a brief moderation along with snow showers Saturday, then back to more cold. Details appear in an updated blog. woodshill.net
