Incumbent ploy, please read: On August 20, 2014, the City Attorney candidates engaged in a candidate forum/debate. The entire event was coordinated by the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce (thank you) well in advance, and the entire time it was intended to be videotaped and subsequently played on our local channel 3. The video was professionally prepared and was going to be broadcast a few times on local 3 for viewers at home, before the election. Well, after the debate and probably after realizing how poorly she did, the City Attorney informed certain people in the community that she was not going to allow the video to be played on local channel 3. She suddenly decided that it wouldnt be appropriate for the local channel 3 to play a Chamber event, due to a potential conflict of interest, or, lack of neutrality and balance. Wheres the conflict? That the Chamber hosted a balanced debate, or that the City Attorney, who has an interest in keeping the voters uneducated, has decided unilaterally not to allow the debate to be played on local channel 3. Let me know your thoughts. In the meantime, the only place you can find our City Attorney being challenged during the August 20th debate, is on Youtube, not our local channel 3.
