Incunable Rare Book Terminology: An incunable is a work printed - TopicsExpress

Incunable Rare Book Terminology: An incunable is a work printed from moveable type prior to 1501. The Latin root of the word refers to cradle. Thus, incunables are books “from the cradle of” printing. We see these at Bauman Rare Books from time to time. Our Las Vegas store currently has our oldest available book, an early edition of “Trionfi” from Petrach, published 1478, on display. If you’d like to see a piece of printing history, stop by any of our stores.
