Indeed in Nigeria, there was a country. There was a country full of unity and where the citizens are patriotic, united and respect everyone irrespective of all sorts of difference. The situation seems to be worsening day by day to the extent that everything is now being viewed along Muslim-Christian as well as north-south point of view. Thats absolutely very bad. Im not surprised. For it is the situation of the country that has prompted that. This afternoon, I checked on Nasiru El-Rufais wall in order to read the complete post regarding the death of his son, Hamza. To my utmost bewilderment, the comment section was so irritating and surprising that I have no option than to close facebook for a while, perhaps, I might recover from the shock. The malicious comment, hatred and the rain of abuses was so unbearable. So many people instead of sympathising with the man who had lost two children in the space of about three years, were just raining curses upon the man. They were praising GEJ and how El-Rufai has been persistently criticising the Goodluck-led PDP administration. Is there need for that? Thats very bad. If you can not condole with Nasiru about the death of his son, then its better for you to keep mute. Its pertinent we realise that Nasiru and GEJ have their own problems but we shouldnt link it to their families especially during a situation like this. I really feel for us as a nation. Just like Gimba Kakanda used to say always, I will say it again: May God save us from us.
