India is the only country in the world where sons and daughters of actors,producers,cricketers, politicians,..et al are forcibly heaped upon the hapless public as carrying forward the family legacy!! Never mind the lack of talent and grooming! So we have had to bear the torture of watching Abhishek Bacchhan,Fardeen Khan,Zayed Khan,Adhyaan Suman, Imraan Khan,Esha Deol and some ugly sons of producers and directors!!!These idiots would struggle to even get nominated for the Razzies Awards, given for the worst Hollywood films of the year.This is precisely the reason for the large number of terribly mediocre movies coming out of Bollywood. Have you ever heard of the sons of Arnold Schwarznegger,Sylvester Stallone,Al Pacino, Harrison Ford or Robert Di Niro?? Hollywood doesnt give a dime to Genes. In contrast, these star kids in India constantly keep harping of having the right genes.So Abhishek Bachchan remains in Bollywood even after delivering flop after flop after flop....This obsession with lineage has become deeply ingrained in the Indian pysche probably as a direct after effect of our national obsession with Caste.Of course there are honorable exceptions like Sonakshi Sinha and Hrithik Roshan. But they are few and far between.For boys and girls from non filmy backgrounds, even getting a toe-hold in this family club industry is an umpteen struggle.Many of these girls get severely exploited.The story is similar in other professions.Like West,we should soon realise that talent is not hereditary and that the greatest stars like Bruce Lee and Marilyn Monroe were born in ordinary middle class homes.
