India yesterday torpedoed the WTO deal for easing the World custom rules which would have added $1 trillion and 21 million jobs to the world economy.They wanted the parallel pact to be signed related to subsidies in food stock piling whose talks would have happened in 2017!Some countries, including the United States, the European Union, Australia, Japan and Norway, have already discussed a plan to exclude India from the facilitation agreement and push ahead with the reforms. WTO was on the verge of historic deal after 20 years which started in Doha 2001, but last minute veto by India frustated the world leaders and would encourage plurilateral reform, leave behind those that dont want to come along. It seems India is not in touch with the reality, be it Narendra Modi or the Manmohan led congress party. Somehow their eyes are not able to see beyond the electoral gains! so much hope has been pinned Modi government and he seems to be the next Kejriwal of India. I supported his vision but last 2 months has only given me heartaches! I wonder how Narendra Modi haters havent picked up the below points: 1) Deferring the gas price hike decision and subsidies removal for Gas cylinders 2) Not able to move on GST and DTC 3) Food security bill is still on the table instead of his righful place in trash can 4) No FDI in retail, 49% FDI in Defence and Insurance instead of 100% and 76% respectively. Also no FDI in e-commerce 5) Criticizing Israel for its assault on Gaza 6) supporting Russia over Ukraine 7) Believing opening Infrastructure would bring developed countries on its knee believing theres only 1 favorite destination called India MODI just Failing himself and India! Sad we still didnt get the visionary leader :(
