Indian Community Contribution for Seychelles India Day - TopicsExpress

Indian Community Contribution for Seychelles India Day 2013 Heart-warmingly, the fact is that the Indian community, comprising of Persons of Indian Origin and Non-Resident Indians in Seychelles have collaboratively come forward to put in their efforts in a fairly handsome manner to make this event a success. They have put in their finances, they have come forward as volunteers as well as assisted in spreading word about the event far and wide, therefore, being the driving force behind the Seychelles India Day. It is a well-known fact that the Persons of Indian Origin who have settled in Seychelles since the very beginning of the history of the nation itself, have been very much a part of the fabric, bonhomie and development of the country of 115 amazingly beautiful islands nestled in the Indian Ocean near the coast of Africa on the eastern side of the Continent. These PIOs form an important link between India and Seychelles. The local Indian community have formed their own cultural and religious associations and there are regular celebrations of various important Indian festivals including Holi, Diwali, Pongal, etc. These events have continued to be part of the local tourism attraction events for international visitors as well.
