Indian Football Transfers – Live Updates, June 6 91. Douhou Peirre to join the Mariners Pune FC play maker has been reported to join the Sabuj-Maroon brigade if the local newspapers are to be believed. There is an imminent need in Karim Bencharifa‘s team to fill in the void left by the departure of Jewel Raja. Douhou Pierre had a brilliant season with the Red Lizards and garnered a lot of man of the match performances. The Ivorian will definitely be a more than decent signing for Mohun Bagan, if they manage to secure his services. Douhoue has been the lynch-pin in Pune FC team last season and their surge towards number 2 spot in I-League. This addition will bolster the Mohun Bagan midfield in a big way. THT Verdict – Likely 92. James Moga To East Bengal The tallest striker in the League has signed for the Lal-Holud Brigade. James Moga finished at the second spot in the league with Pune FC, scoring sixteen goals for them. The South Sudanese striker followed the footsteps of Ryuji Sueoka, who has already inked the contract for the Kolkata giants. East Bengal had dealt a heavy blow when Penn Orji decided to opt against taking a pay-cut. An attack consisting of Moga and Chidi Edeh will be devastating to say the least. This pair can take the I-League and AFC Cup by storm and is expected to make giant waves of Red-Gold colours. THT Verdict - Confirmed 93. Penn Orji to Md. Sporting Plying their trade at the topmost level in Indian football, Mohammedan Sporting Club has taken the transfer market by storm as they secure some of the hottest signatures. After Tolgay Ozbey and Salgaocar pair Luciano Sabrosa and Josimar, Penn Orji signed the dotted line to make himself available to the black-&-whites for the next season. The quartet completes the foreign quota for Mohammedan Sporting club for I-League campaign and it means the end of road for foreign recruit Alfred who lead them to top division in qualifiers. THT Verdict – Confirmed. 94. Sandid Nandy returns to Mohun Bagan Veteran India goalkeeper Sandip Nandy had left Churchill Brothers after both parties couldn’t come to an agreement over a new deal. Nandy had played a key role in Churchill Brothers’ I-League winning campaign. Incidentally it was the 5th national football title for the 38-year old keeper. First of which came in NFL along with Mohun Bagan. Sandip Nandy was tipped to move to Mohun Bagan after his release, and now the agents has completed the formalities of the move. Indian International will be a welcome addition to the Mohun Bagan squad. Even at 38- years of age he was the no:1 custodian for Indin Football Team in last years competitions making it a key addition. THT Verdict – Confirmed. 95. Nicholas Rodriguez signs a contract extension with Mumbai F C after almost securing a move to Mohun Bagan. If earlier reports were to be believed, Mumbai FC play-maker Nicholas Rodriguez was on the verge of joining Mohun Bagan AC. His stellar performances for the Mumbai Club had earned him quite a reputation and the mariners were in line to replace Jewel Raja with the addition of Rodriguez. In a dramatic turn of events, Rodriguez took a u-turn at the last minute rejecting the offer from Mohun Bagan AC to sign a contract extension with Mumbai FC. Not many would have expected such a thing to happen as only a few will reject the Kolkata club for the Mumbai one. With Mumbai FC, Rodriguez is guaranteed of more playing time and that might have attracted him to sign an extension. THT Verdict – Confirmed. 96. Branco Cardozo joins Mumbai FC. Air India striker Branco Cardozo is set to replace Gabriel Fernandez in Mumbai FC strike force. Fernandez had a decent I-League campaign with the Mumbai club and some quarters believed that he was unlucky not to get a call-up to the national team. This has fueled his move to Dempo SC. With the departure of Gabriel Fernandez, there was a hole in the Mumbai FC strike force for next season. Team’s think tank has acted swiftly to secure the signature of Air India striker Cardozo. The injury affected player had a stop-start career so far and will be looking forward to a run of games to establish his stamina and confidence with the new club. Khalid Jamil believes that player is of the same caliber as Fernandez when fit and his first challenge will be to get him fit and running. THT Verdict -Very Likely.
