Indian Summer and surf on the way! Today (Sunday) we have a mix of NW wind and ground swell in SoCal with light southern hemi in the background. NW ground swell is on the rise along the California coast, and will increase in SoCal throughout the day today, peaking Monday. Buoys in the outer waters show NW swell in the 10 range, being a fairly even mix of short period wind swell and longer period ground swell. NW ground swell is on the rise from a Gulf-originating system, which will fill in throughout the day in SoCal, peaking early Monday morning with sets running head high at west facing breaks in SoCal. The tide is swinging wide from a New Moon that peaked yesterday. Today we have a 6.4 high around 9:00 AM and well see a -0.8 low around 4:15 PM. A high pressure ridge is expanding over the northeastern Pacific and the American West, which is making for an offshore Santa Ana event over the next few days. This should warm beaches into the mid 70s Monday, and then right around 80 Tuesday and Wednesday.
