Indigenous Australian artist Richard McLean spent this week with local artists, students and teachers, delivering art workshops and sharing his culture and experience. In addition to the workshop for local artists and a visit to Port Vila International School earlier this week, Richard also had the opportunity to work with the youth and mamas at Wan Smolbag Theatre, teachers from Vila East School, mamas and pikininis at the Vanuatu Society for Disabled People and students from nine different countries at the Australia-Pacific Technical College. Richard’s program provided a fantastic opportunity for cultural exchange between Australia and Vanuatu. He was able to re-connect with friends made during his last visit to Vanuatu as a Youth Challenge Australia volunteer in 2012 and has now made new life-long friendships.
