Induction of three new members Since Ian Coulter became President of the Rotary Club of Dunstable at the beginning of July, he has had the pleasure of inducting three new members. There were two inducted at the first evening meeting with ladies on 22nd July, Susan van Zyl and Nick Smith and on 5th August, Graham Smith, no relation to Nick! Susan, from South Africa, came to this country 10 years ago. She lives in Leighton Buzzard with two sons and works for the Connells Group as a Fleet Administrator. Following four years of college, she attained a Level 4 Diploma in Accounting from the Association of Accounting Technicians. Since her course had finished she had plenty of spare time and, following a conversation with Roger Sharp, decided to join Rotary. She becomes our first full lady member! Nick studied catering and hospitality at Aylesbury College. He has worked in several 5 star hotels, been an Area Manager for a patisserie company and washed dishes in a pub! Since 2005 Nick, along with his wife Sarah, has run an independent coffee shop called Latte Heaven specialising in Italian style coffee. Nick bakes all the cakes and also sells them to other local businesses and has recently started making celebration cakes. Graham, a semi retired Insurance broker, recently moved back to Toddington after a 10 year absence. Previous to that he was based in Naseby, Northamptonshire. He started his “apprenticeship” in the Insurance business with the Royal Insurance Company, London, in 1974 and over the years progressed to run his own business. We wish all three every success and enjoyment in being part of the Rotary movement and especially in our club. If you would like to know more about Rotary please contact Roger Sharp on 01582 606405
