Infidel means unfaithful, as in not keeping the same true faith. - TopicsExpress

Infidel means unfaithful, as in not keeping the same true faith. Anyone of a differing faith can be said to be an Infidel. From the Latin, fidel or faithful. Marine slogan: Semper Fidelis = Always Faithful. There are several errors in logic and in transliteration committed by this fellow. The first and most severe error is to equate any writing in any book as literal and absolutely true. From this first foundation error, all other errors can derive. If the book is mistranslated, altered or simply makes a claim that is untrue, absurd or not supported by evidence, we cannot take it as literal truth. A brief reading of the Koran and of the Old Testament will turn up obvious contradictions, errors and erroneous totally incorrect ideas. Infallible? No book, not a book of science, a book of faith, or any ancient book of any sort will be found that is error free. Separating fiction from fact must be the first order of business before we blindly adhere to any teachings, especially before we wrongly believe that those ideas are worth fighting over, mistreating others over or in the worst extreme, killing or brutalizing others. - Zenbob
