Inflicting Your Flesh upon someone When it comes to people - TopicsExpress

Inflicting Your Flesh upon someone When it comes to people changing in areas of their lives we can get very frustrated being around such people when it causes trouble or aggravation in our lives. It can often lead to fussing, arguing, complaining and cursing. I know this from first hand experience, I use to do it alot. It was my way of trying to get someone to change instead of trusting God to do it. This type of behavior isnt necessary and requires growth in areas such as patience and self control. Without growth in these areas, I was inflicting my flesh upon upon that person and it brought no glory to God at all. As I grew older I learned our words will not always be enough, and that as people no matter how much you love someone you have to let people make their own decisions even if it comes to their own detriment. We must learn to be patient with others, not beating them over the head all the time with things they get wrong and things they dont catch onto right away. Just because things dont change in our time or when we want them too, does not mean the person isnt listening to you or that theyre stupid. I had to remember that we all need change in some area of our lives, and God doesnt beat us over the head or nag us to death every single time we sin. I had to learn to give God time to work within someone and allow Him to do the changing, whether it be through their mind or their heart. When we try to inflict our flesh upon others we only get in the way of real change! I hope you learn from my mistakes. Its never too late to repent!
