Info for the FX Race your mates. Race Your Mates Competitor Information. The Race Your Mates Day Challenge concept is unique and is primarily meant as not only as a fun way to further enjoy your track day riding experiences but also as a basic introduction to racing. Some will go on and take the next step and some will not, but either way all riders will have experienced a totally new way of being involved in track days that is more exciting and challenging then your normal run of the mill track day. The Race Your Mates Group will be open to riders who have never raced previously. The Race Your Mates Track Day Challenge days are now being run on the same day as the Formula Xtreme Road Racing Club Series days at Wakefield Park. The days are: Saturday 21st March Saturday 23rd May Sunday 19th July Sunday 13th December And for the first time in 2015 Race Your Mates will be run with the Queensland Sprints at Queensland Raceway, the days are: Sunday 15th February Sunday 15th March Saturday 6th June Saturday 18th July Saturday 5th September How does a Xtreme Race Your Mates Track Day Challenge day work? The Race Your Mates riders will get two ten minute timed combined practice and qualifying sessions prior to racing which will determine what row they are on for the day. The rows of riders will be double spaced (starting Row 1, then Row 3, Row 5 etc) so a maximum of 20 riders will be accepted. You will also get a practice ‘Race Start’ session with two actual practice race starts prior to your first race. You will get four scheduled races of five laps each on the day and competitors will race for a trophy against the other three competitors in their row that they qualified in against, not actually everyone in the race. Each row receives a first place trophy overall at the end of the day. There is no overall winner on the day, just row winners. The events have electronic timing and the race results and laptimes are put up on the website. Licences: For the Wakefield Park events: - All competitors will need either a MA National Competition Licence or a AASA National Competition Licence. A AASA licence is just $100 for the year and doesn’t require a rider to join a club, so there is substantial savings to be had by going down the AASA path. AASA licences are also accepted at all Australasian Superbike Championship rounds. For the Queensland Events: - All competitors will need either a RACERS Licence which is available from Queensland Raceway, a AASA Competition Licence National or a MA National Competition Licence . More information will be available in the new year To get a AASA National Competition License please contact us for more information. Entry fees for the Xtreme ‘Race Your Mates’ Track Day Challenge days for 2015 are still being finalised. The entry fee will include timing transmitter hire and garaging in pit lane for one bike. If have a question about the new Xtreme Race Your Mates Track Day Challenge days then please call me in business hours on 02 48 235 711. Cheers Terry O’Neill
