Information Protection Team Senior Associate / Manager PwC · London · Operations (Internal Firm Services) Description Information Protection Team Senior Associate / Manager Location London Service Operations (Internal Firm Services) Specialism Risk & Quality Industry Who we are looking for We are looking for an experienced Senior Associate or a Manager, preferably with experience in Data Protection, who is looking for a significant opportunity to expand your skillset and develop your career in information security. The Information Protection Team (“IP team”) in Compliance, (based in London and part of the wider One Firm Risk & Quality function) is at the forefront in ensuring the Firm is able to innovate, adapt and evolve in an ever changing technological and regulatory landscape. Furthermore, as information and communications technologies become ever more powerful, ensuring security of information and the protection of personal data is becoming an increasingly high priority agenda item for individuals and businesses alike. About the role This position offers a fantastic opportunity to join the IP team on a 12 month secondment and be involved in this important area. The nature of the responsibilities associated with this position will involve frequent interaction with senior partners and staff (including Executive Board members). This role will initially be split between Data Protection and Data Incident Management and there will be opportunities to develop further skills once in role. Initially, the successful candidate’s key responsibilities will include: Managing the day to day delivery of the Firm’s data incident management procedures (including initial incident response, risk assessment and sanctions) Responsibility for ensuring the Firm meets its statutory obligations to comply with Data Subject Access Requests received under the Data Protection Act 1998 Providing accurate, timely and pragmatic Data Protection adviceto the business Assisting with the IP team’s Data Protection and ISO 27001 compliance monitoring Liaison with senior partners and staff, including board level. Assisting with monitoring the Firm’s compliance with the global risk management standard, policies and procedures on confidentiality and privacy. In addition, as an IP team member, the role holder will be expected to play an instrumental part in broader IP activities and undertake ad hoc IP projects as appropriate. The role holder should be capable of working autonomously and managing his/her workload, generally taking decisions alone but escalating where appropriate. Requirements Aptitude for problem solving and ability to see “the big picture” in order to make proactive and pragmatic recommendations The ability to manage multiple projects or complex assignments A good knowledge of PwC’s business and structure and of the broader Risk & Quality function so as to know when to involve other subject matter experts in the initiatives Sound and confident judgment Excellent written and verbal communication skills An ability to express ideas and opinions clearly and succinctly with courage of conviction; managing a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and to create a positive outcome for all parties.
