Information from Bridgeport PD: Police Preempt Possible Retaliation (I will forward a mug shot if I get one) (Bridgeport, CT – Sept. 11, 2013) – A city man was jailed on gun charges after police learned that he might be planning to retaliate for a homicide Tuesday. On Tuesday, police received information from a source that the driver of a Toyota Scion had a handgun and wanted revenge for Tuesday’s killing. At about 12:30 a.m. today, officers observed the car parked in the PT Barnum housing complex. A short time later, officers began following the vehicle when it drove off. The car accelerated suddenly and entered Interstate 95, where police pulled it over. The driver was identified as Jalil Hill, 28. After he was in custody, Sgt. John Andrews and Officer David Reihl began retracing the route that the car took and Reihl located a loaded .40-caliber handgun on the grass off of Wordin Avenue. Hill was charged with criminal possession of a firearm by a felon, weapon in a motor vehicle and carrying a pistol without a permit. Police Identify Victims of Reservoir Avenue Shootings (Bridgeport, CT – Sept. 11, 2013) – Police are releasing the identities of individuals who were shot Tuesday on Reservoir Avenue. An additional victim subsequently came forward and stated he had been grazed by a bullet during the incident. Christopher Pettway was fatally wounded. The other victims found at the scene were: Juwan Edwards, 15, who suffered a gunshot wound to his buttocks; Aijaholn Tisdale, 19, who was shot in the leg, and Leroy Shaw, 15, who was shot in the leg. All are Bridgeport residents and none of the injuries were life threatening. Subsequently, Tamir Hamilton, 19, reported to police that he was with the other victims when the shooting began and was grazed in the ankle. Tuesday shooting happened at about 2:30 p.m. Then, early this morning, police responded to the area of Cityview and Reservoir avenues on a report of shots fired. Officers were then notified by Trumbull police that a shooting victim had been located on Hawley Lane in Trumbull. The victim, Sean Lawrence, 23, stated he was shot in the leg while walking in the area of Reservoir and Cityview. He told police that he was good friends with Pettway.
