Information received from Ohio University: The National Weather Service is forecasting below normal temperatures and a wind chill warning is in effect for much of Southeast Ohio beginning at 5 p.m. tonight. Due to these forecasts, Ohio University leadership is closing all campuses and centers effective at 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27. Classes that are underway before the 5 oclock hour are instructed to conclude by 5 p.m. All classes and activities after 5 p.m. are cancelled. Everyone is advised to stay indoors and avoid outdoor exposure. Additional CATS buses will be made available through Transportation Services to limit wait time at bus stops. Service will be extended through 10 p.m. to allow for transportation around campus after normal operating hours.Essential University personnel (such as Facilities and Culinary Services staff) should check in with direct supervisors for instructions regarding their work responsibilities during a campus closure. Be sure to discuss the Universitys status with your colleagues and classmates to make sure everyone is aware of the closure. An update to the Universitys status will be made early in the afternoon of Monday, Jan. 27. The update will posted to the Alert page at ohio.edu/alert, as well as sent via e-mail and text message.
