Initially this child (young woman) was a chemistry major (she really didnt like it) She needed an elective to complete her registration, so she grabbed an acting class and found that she absolutely loved it! She immediately decided to audition for the joint BS in Dramatic Arts, Film and Television between St Johns Univ and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and has never looked back. She got in (!) her graduation from AADA was last month. I think all of the family except her dad trusted in her decision. She knew what she wanted, so we figured go be happy, shes young and can change her mind again and will land on her feet....again. Quite naturally her dad was very concerned but she had made up her mind as well as her hours to be able to graduate on time with her class. Here we are four years later and shes never once wavered. This may be our little Lupita in the making! We are extremely proud of her faith in self, her determination and overall strength as a young woman finding her way in this world. I work at a university and often ask parents if theyve noticed changes in their kids at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Most do. I saw Dymes from the outset. Being in NYC really gave her a new voice and perspective. Im extremely proud of my cousin and know her future will be very challenging but also very rewarding. I truly believe shes been equipped to deal with whatever comes her way.
