Injured athlete Kevin Ogar had a freak accident last week that left him paralyzed from the waist down. There has been much speculation about the cause. This article is probably the most accurate. The video is somewhat graphic knowing the outcome. My professional opinion (spine physician), is that this did indeed happen with the bar in the overhead position and had nothing to do with the bar or the fall. His legs lost neurologic tone before he hit the ground. This is obvious. Extremely unfortunate. We are holding a fundraising event this Friday and Saturday to help Kevin off set medical expenses.
