Inquiry. Am I intolerant, getting old, or just as the Princess, from the Princess and the Pea Fairy Tale? The sound of children screaming drives me insane, It is like torture, really, as little children SCREAM and cry at the top of their lungs as you attempt to digest a meal. Why is this allowed and why do parents do nothing? The Red Chinese should have employed screaming children instead of shoving bamboo sticks under fingernails, or water torture. I would sign over the deed of my house, or cut my own liver out with a pen-knife to avoid this sound. Really, its is like torture. I just got up and left, meal unfinished. These kids SCREAMED at the top of their lung capacity, every 40-50 seconds, utterly without warning, as if a SIREN was going off. The parents did NOTHING. I felt like leaving my check at their table and saying- pay my check assholes, as you think you have carte blanch to inflict your little SIRENS on the entire room.
