Inspired by ‘Amma Canteens’ of Jayalalitha, Akhilesh Yadav launches ‘Pappa Bhojanalaya’ - June 5, 2013 by Mishtik Journo Lucknow: “The first of ‘Pappa Bhojanalaya’ canteens will be operational in Lucknow and Kanpur”, Akhilesh Yadav announced here today. The inauguration will be done by ‘Pappa’ Mulayam Singh on 1st July when Akhilesh turns 40. Jayalalithaa has already launched the “Amma Canteens” in several centers in Tamil Nadu serving idli, sambar and curd rice to the people from economically weaker sections. “Soniaji has only assured Atta – Chawal but we are providing ready to eat Sabzi Roti for Rs 3 and Bhaat Dal for Rs 5”, added Akhilesh, “We are even considering regional add-ons like Paan at Banaras and Petha at Agra.” Simultaneously, Ajit Pawar has offered a glass of water with every meal of Bhakri Bhaaji to soothe the Marathi sentiments whereas in Gujarat, last week, a progressive Modi proposed a chain offering Jasuben Pizza for Rs 10. “It’s a multi cuisine food security banquet on offer in India”, said a political analyst, “Looks like another coalition government in 2014 with participation of Atta- Chawal, Chole- Bhature, Maach- Bhaat, Roti- Sabzi, Idli- Smabar, Appam – Kadala et al”.
