Inspired devotional October 7, 2014 #sheep&serpent 1.0 Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. From our analysis over the last two weeks, we saw that though the sheep has great qualities as regards its relationship with its shepherd, it is still deficient when compared to the wolfs physical abilities. It becomes imperative therefore for the sheep to develop certain qualities that can match and even outwit the wolf. Our text offers a solution, ...be wise as serpent it says. Little wonder the scriptures say in Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom Wisdom is one of the key attributes of the serpent that the sheep must possess.
