Instead of going to the seashore or a farm or a garden with wonderful flowers, on Thursday the Kittery Art Association went into the heart of Kitterys Foreside, the Wallingford Square near the front gate of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. A half dozen painters looked for something to paint, and set to work. One, Barbara Stevens Adams, used a couple of relaxing photographers who were sitting drinking some ice coffee near Lils, for models for her oil painting. Then, when Bill Moore wanted a picture, Bill Townsend made his move, putting his hand playfully around her shoulders. She laughed, and said, I hope my husband doesnt see this! Mister Adams, we have his address if you need it! In the third photo here, we see Nina Shore working along Walker Street, while Plein Air leader Dianne Dean was just down the way working on her own painting.
